Ascension

Yes, an update (it’s there when it’s needed). It took quite some time. Here’s why:
This year has been very, very intense in all aspects. My life (and how i experience it) is totally different now. A lot of (ego-) ‘clutter’ is gone. The ‘doing’ is dying more and more, and is replaced by ‘being’. It also seems as if there is more consciousness seeping through, showing me the bigger picture of everything at all times. It’s hard to put into words, but it’s more than amazing how it all came to be. The ‘impossible’ manifested itself, even in very ‘dark’ ego-moments, where the entire ego-life seemed to be utterly destroyed. Everything started to flow more fluidly than ever before, but only after totally letting go, not filling in anything with ego-wishes. Continued lessons from that ‘ego-hellhole’ called ‘The Abyss?
Not quite.....
Somewhere around early June we (me and Apollonius, that is) received instructions from The Higher Self to start a new album called ‘Ascension’.
As always, we first have to become the energy of the album, before it can manifest itself musically. So that meant there were more lessons coming up.’Oh great, another s&*tstorm coming up’ says a frightened ego. Relax, you’ll be fine. You’ll be loved, there is abundance in everything. Stop being such a ‘detailist’ (is that a word?). Anyway, moving on.
I started a lot of sound design for the album, which made Apollonius (short: Appie) think like he didn’t do enough for this album in the beginning. (Funny, as i thought the same in my case with ‘Universal Ripples’). John Madden comes in:.....’Apollonius is like the Brett Favre of sound design......i mean....here’s a guy that uses Logic’s Sculpture thru Absynth 5 FX/Uhbiks/whatever.... and BOOM.....he creates a whole Universe of sounds....and...and....and that’s what that’s all about.’ I then passed all those audio files and presets to him. And here’s when the fun starts : one of us might have an audio file (a field recording or whatever) or a patch, and it could end up being totally different and more amazing than the other could ever imagine. Appie then added a lot of amazing textures to them, or added then to his own, and crafted everything into amazing organic arrangements. I say organic because we used a lot of field recordings on this album, plus the occasional flute and singing bowl recordings.
The album is now in its final stages of completion. All tracks have been mastered, and they sound fantastic, as if you’re in the middle of it all. The only things that need to be done now is glueing them all together into a fluid album arrangement, plus the artwork.
Stay tuned, as it won’t take that long before it’s finished!
